Summary of Article’s Focus:
My life story in combination with a very strong academic credentials fascinated Swedish media. They highlighted that I had emigrated to Sweden at the age of 16 as an unaccompanied minor, not knowing the whereabouts of any other family member. I was placed in a vocational school but was soon recognized for my exceptional intelligence and was transferred into a college preparatory program. I have since completed Bachelor of Science degrees in both Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, along with multiple Master of Science degrees. I have completed my Ph.D. in field of medicine at the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), focusing on cellular signaling pathways. Where I also obtained my first postdoctoral research fellowship, in the field of toxicology investigating the role of environmental pollutants on occupational health. My second postdoctoral fellowship in Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical school focusing on RNA editing and late-stage prostate cancer. I am currently working on childhood brain cancer and is promoted to Instructor in Surgery.
